26 May New Report: More People Use CBD Than Ever Before
A new study from New Frontier Data shows that CBD usage rates are rising in the United States, and roughly half of Americans have a positive perception of CBD.
If you’re considering selling CBD products online or in your brick-and-mortar shop, there is no time like the present to get started. A new report by market research firm New Frontier Data that explores CBD consumers in the United States shows that the rates of using CBD are climbing.
Relatively unknown just years ago, CBD has certifiably established itself in the U.S. wellness space, as demonstrated by the new report. Using a nationally-represented survey of consumers, New Frontier Data found that 86% of Americans know of CBD, and 18% of Americans have tried CBD at least once.
“Our research shows that 1 in 5 Americans have used CBD, which demonstrated a major jump in consumer interest in the sector,” said New Frontier Data Founder & CEO Giadha Aguirre de Carcer. “While this phenomena is taking root across many other regions such as Europe and Latin America, the United States continues to represent the largest CBD market.”
Impact of Age on CBD Usage Rates
Age seems to play a part in whether an adult is open to using CBD. Younger adults (ages 18-34) were most likely to have ever consumed CBD, with 23% reporting they’ve tried it at least once before. Just behind them at 21% were adults between 35 and 54 years. Of adults ages 55 and older, 14% said they’ve used it.
Positive Perceptions of CBD
While Americans generally have a positive perception of CBD and the potential benefits it has to offer, those who have tried CBD have even stronger levels of satisfaction. Roughly half of Americans told New Frontier Data that they feel positive about the all-natural cannabinoid. Among those who use CBD, 84% reported a positive perception.
CBD as an Everyday Wellness Tool
At HempMeds®, we believe that hemp-derived CBD can play an important role in everyday health when used regularly. So, we excited to see in the report that 40% of those who use CBD say they enjoy a CBD serving at least once a week (21% say they use CBD at least once a day).
CBD for You and Me
Knowing that CBD can be one of the most thoughtful gifts, we also appreciated seeing that while 88% of Americans have purchased CBD products for themselves, 27% percent have ever bought them for a family member, and 7% have purchased them for someone else.
Most Popular CBD Products Right Now
The report also offered some insight into the types of CBD products consumers in the U.S. prefer at the moment. CBD oils and liquids are the most dominant and preferred CBD products (63%), followed by topical (36%) and edibles (31%).
