Well look no further body butter lovers, we’ve got it all right here in one place. After researching and experimenting with different topical recipes, using RSHO™ CBD liquid and CBD isolates, combined with essential oils, and specific carriers, HempMeds® has come up with some pretty awesome recipes that we’d like to share with you.

CBD Salves: Not Just For The Ladies

CBD part of healthy livingGentlemen, do not sleep on CBD salve! This topical post is for you, too. Plenty of men in our office rub our famous CBD salve into their golfer’s elbow, and all kinds of other sore areas, and tired joints. They swear that it’s a must-have in the gym bag.

The most important thing about creating your own CBD topicals is to be informed of the ingredients you’re adding. Be sure you find the best quality ingredients when creating your topical product for the best results. The use of CBD topicals has been found to promote recovery, offer nourishment to hair, nails, and skin, along with many other uses.

We’ll break down exactly what you’ll need when it comes to making your own topical recipes. We’ve included three quick and easy ways to get started. Be sure to check back for more recipes, as we’ll keep you updated on the latest ones we’ve tried.

Why Use CBD Oil?

Hemp oil provides the body with a number of beneficial nutrients, many of which are often missing from our diets. This includes important vitamins and minerals, proteins, flavonoids, terpenes, and omega fatty acids.

hemp seedsThe topical application of CBD allows the molecules to be absorbed directly into the affected area for faster, more focused onset of effects. Rather than ingesting hemp oil orally, which can take up to 2 hours or more as it needs to digest before entering the bloodstream, rub it on the affected areas directly.

This minimally invasive method for CBD use often serves as a first point of contact between curious consumers and the hemp oil industry. Reluctant to ingest, new users may be more willing to try topical applications for their first time before moving on to oral CBD products like CBD oil concentrates or CBD capsules.

Like all topical hemp oil products, these are non-psychoactive, containing no more than trace levels of THC. Check out our hemp production process to see where it comes from.

Adjusting the CBD Level in Your DIY Hemp Oil Topical

Store bought or pre-made CBD oil topicals are very popular, but sometimes users want to up the serving and amount of CBD. That’s where doing-it-yourself comes in and changes the game! Making your own topicals puts you in control of all the ingredients, especially how much CBD is used.

When combined with other ingredients, you’re able to create a unique CBD hemp oil topical of your choice. We’ll show you how to use RSHO™ Blue and Gold Label CBD oil concentrate in oral applicators, RSHO-X™ liquid, and RSHO™ CBD Isolate to create your own custom topicals, tailored to your specific needs.

Use a Carrier Oil in Your Hemp Oil Topical

In order to make a CBD product for topical application, it is best to first blend the hemp oil with a carrier oil. Customers will often use coconut as their carrier of choice, but jojoba, sweet almond, or even olive oil can also be used. Coconut oil, rich in lauric acid, is the most popular carrier used due to its antimicrobial, antibacterial, and antifungal properties.

Whichever carrier you choose, be sure to purchase the highest quality available to ensure the matched quality with our RSHO™ Blue and Gold Label pure hemp oil oral applicators or RSHO-X™ liquid. You can also pair your carrier oil with pure CBD isolate, a fine powder containing 99 percent CBD made from all-natural hemp.

As a natural humectacoconut oil as carrier oilnt, hemp retains and preserves moisture. This is a very important aspect of topical applications since hemp oil is able to penetrate the skin, you’ll be able to achieve optimal moisturization benefits. For single applications, you can add your carrier oil to the desired area first, using enough to wet the skin without becoming excessively oily. Then, immediately rub the RSHO™ into the area, blending the RSHO™ and carrier oils as you do, massaging deeply into the skin. After application, cover the area with a gauze pad or wrap to keep the RSHO™ from staining clothing or furniture.

Single Application Usage Suggestions

To create your infused single application topicals, you can do the following:

  • If using on the hands or feet, use gloves or socks and leave on overnight for best results
  • Massage over a clean face before bedtime
  • When used as a spot treatment, use a very small amount over problem areas on the face or other areas of your body
  • Use as a deep conditioner for the hair, massage a tablespoon of hemp oil and essential oil of your choice and let sit for 5-10 minutes

A quarter gram of RSHO™ is enough for a small area, like a foot, knee, elbow, or hand. For larger areas, like the shoulder or back, a half gram of RSHO™ provides greater coverage. When using RSHO™ pure hemp oil, this method provides between 42 and 120 mg of CBD per application, depending on the label used and the amount applied.

Recipes to Create Your Own CBD Topical

You can also create your own infused shea butter balm, magnesium body butter, and a Jojoba oil using MCT oil-based RSHO™ Liquids, such as our Green Label CBD Liquid, Blue Label CBD Liquid, Gold Label CBD Liquid, and RSHO-X™. This is excellent when you need an intense moisture treatment, a calming body butter to aid in relaxation, or the ultimate massage oil to naturally relieve tired muscles. Who doesn’t, right?

The total CBD count per batch for the following recipes is 62 mg. However, using the 8 oz. RSHO-X™ increases this level to 156 mg of CBD per batch. Depending on your needs, you will be able to adjust the level gradually in order to achieve the best results. This is the great part of creating your own topicals–you control the amount – per your individual needs at that time!
