How much CBD should I be taking daily for best results?

Our customers love our products. In fact, our frequent, returning buyers aren’t just CBD oil users, they often become champions of the CBD oil movement, touting the quality, ingredients, and overall benefits of taking CBD oil via HempMeds®.
They tell family, friends, co-workers, and anyone who’ll listen, about the many benefits they’ve personally experienced after adding a daily serving of CBD oil to their daily routine.
One question that they hear over and over (as does HempMeds®) is: How much CBD should I take each day?
A simple question with a variety of not-so-simple answers. Unfortunately, there is no standardized answer to this question just yet. The internet offers a wide range of possibilities, which only increases the confusion. Here, we try to simplify the process for you.
CBD and the FDA
Typically, the most reliable source for this type of information would be the federal government, specifically the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). They have yet to provide this information.
In the U.S., it is the FDA that is responsible for creating any Recommended Daily Intake (RDI), defined as the daily levels of a nutrient sufficient to meet the requirements of 97-98% of healthy individuals in the U.S. However, the FDA has not created an RDI for suggested daily servings of CBD.
In order to comply with FDA regulations, HempMeds® does not list an RDI of our own, nor do we provide a Daily Value (%DV) of CBD for any of our products. Rather, we recommend our customers do their own research from a source they can trust and also consulting with their doctor or specialist to determine their own ideal daily CBD levels.
Daily servings that are right for you
However, our products do come with a “suggested serving size.” This is here to help you decide the right amount of CBD serving sizes, using a variety of our products, to help you hit your daily goal. This target number also guides the HempMeds® team in helping you determine which hemp oil products are best for you.
HempMeds® offers products with a range of CBD serving sizes – from the roughly 8 mg of CBD per serving in our 2 oz bottles of CBD oil tinctures to our 225 mg per serving RSHO® Max Strength pure hemp oil oral applicators. Most of our customers tend to mix and match different products to build their CBD regimen to achieve their target CBD level each and every day.
Typically, our CBD hemp oil products come in three potency levels. With our lowest concentration of CBD per serving, between 1 and 3 mg, our hemp oil tinctures are an ultra-portable way to add small amounts of CBD to your system throughout the day. Our medium range products, like our RSHO® Liquids and our hemp oil capsules, are excellent once or twice daily additions to your diet. Finally, our RSHO® pure CBD oil packaged in oral applicators provide our highest levels of CBD, between 50 and 225 mg, depending on the label you choose.
So, if you’re new to CBD and just want to try it out, a tincture would be ideal. Our RSHO® 2oz Oil Tinctures comes with a suggested serving size of 2 mL per day. That will get you 16.6 mg of CBD, a relatively small amount, but a great way to start. Our CBD liquids, such as the 4oz bottle of RHSO-X, come with a suggested serving size of ¾ of a teaspoon giving you 31.7 mg of CBD. Finally, our Blue Label RSHO® Oral Applicator comes with 10 grams of hemp oil and a suggested serving size of .5g, delivering 85 mg of CBD.
Slow and low – that is the time
When starting any new wellness routine, it is suggested you start low and go slow. Once you determine the CBD levels you’d like to achieve each day, start below that number and work your way up, taking a larger serving every day, or week, until you feel the intended effects. When you hit your ideal daily serving size, you can decide if you’d like to continue increasing or stay where you are. This will help you dial in the daily CBD serving that works best for you.
When starting your experience with CBD oil, less is more. Start with a few drops daily or a smaller milligram capsule. Then wait for a week or so and see how you feel. Your personal serving of CBD is all about hitting the sweet spot for your endocannabinoid system. What works for someone else, may not work for you. Finding the right serving might take a little time, but you will get there.
Why take CBD oil?
Now that you’ve got a grip on how much CBD oil you want to take, you might need a reminder of why you’re taking it in the first place!
There are a number of reasons to take a daily serving of CBD from hemp oil products, but the most prominent among them is that a hemp oil product helps augment the body’s naturally occurring endocannabinoids, increasing the body’s ability to promote balance within its systems.
When absorbed by the body, CBD interacts with the body’s endocannabinoid system, which is responsible for maintaining homeostasis through the manipulation of a number of the body’s functions, like sleep, appetite, and immune function.
It can take a couple of minutes to a couple of hours after use for the effects of CBD to fully appear, depending on serving size and method of application, among other factors that affect the rate of absorption by the body. Sublingual (holding under the tongue for thirty seconds) absorption takes place within 10‐15 minutes, while capsules can take anywhere from 1-2 hours to take effect.
Once the endocannabinoid is supported in this way, it is able to function more efficiently, thus optimizing the body’s performance each day. Although it is not critical to stimulate the endocannabinoid system daily, doing so increases the effectiveness of CBD oil’s interaction with the endocannabinoid system.
