Despite breakfast often being neglected due to busy schedules, beginning your day with a nutritious meal sets you off on the right foot to feeling energized throughout the rest of the day. This super food cereal, which contains hemp seeds, coconut flakes, almonds, chia seeds, cacao nibs and blueberries will provide your body with a plethora of nutrients and have you feeling full at least until lunch time.
Because the cereal contains hemp seeds, you can be rest assured that your breakfast will be a good source of protein, fiber and essential fatty acids. Protein served as the backbone to tissue building and repair and increases your metabolic rate. Fiber helps to lower your cholesterol and increases satiety, which means it’ll keep you full throughout the morning. The essential fatty acids, most notably omega-3 and omega-6, contribute to the health of your heart and circulatory system. This coconut, almond and hemp seed cereal takes less than 10 minutes to make, but if you find that you’re rushed in the morning, mix the dry ingredients for the cereal ahead of time so that it’s ready to go for you when you wake.
¼ cup hemp seeds
¼ cup almonds, sliced
¼ cup chia seeds
¼ cup coconut flakes
¼ cup cacao nibs
1 cup blueberries
1 ½ cup milk, of choice
Add and mix the hemp seeds, almonds, chia seeds, coconut flakes and cacao nibs into a cereal bowl. Pour in the milk and let the dry ingredients soak for five minutes before topping with blueberries. Serve immediately.
