By adding more fiber to your breakfast, you’ll be able to go longer without getting hungry. Fiber, which is found in plant-based foods like hemp, increases satiety so that you feel fuller longer. Plus, it supports your digestive system and helps to improve both your cholesterol and blood sugar levels.

For a healthy, high fiber breakfast that will keep your belly happy until your lunch break, toss in some hemp oil or hemp seeds to a fruit smoothie. Mornings seem to always be stressful, but all making a smoothie takes is to throw a bunch of ingredients into a blender. Add a splash of hemp oil or a small handful of hemp seeds to the fruits, vegetables and super foods to make up a nutrient-packed smoothie. Here are a couple of ideas to get you started:

  • 1/3 cup strawberries
  • ½ cup kale leaves
  • ¼ cup water

Peanut Butter and Banana Hemp Smoothie

  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 ½ tablespoons peanut butter
  • Hemp seeds or oil

It’s hard to go wrong with a smoothie, so if you’re missing a particular ingredient, feel free to use whatever produce you have on hand. Depending on the produce you use in your smoothie, you may not even taste the hemp oil or seeds. In the cases that you do, the hemp will add a nutty flavor that fits in well. Consider hitting up your local farmer’s market so that you know the produce you’re buying is in season.
